Vallejo Paints Paint Guide for WWII Tanks

I was wondering if anyone has a general guide or sorts on which paints work best for the use on WWII Tanks.  (eg. Sherman, Panzers, etc)

Thanks
Buzzkill

I use Vallejo paints and Flames of War has some really good painting guides on their websites. Basically for German tanks I use Middlestone (882) as a dunkelgelb base (can also use Dark Yellow 978, they are very similar. I then use Chocolate Brown (872) and Reflective Green (890) for the camo. These are the colors I used for the Pz. IV Ausf. H platoon I posted.

For American vehicles, it is simple, Brown Violet (887).

Battlefront, in conjunction with Army Painter, sell spray cans of Brown Violet and Dark Yellow and they work well to base coat your vehicles (you need to prime first) and are made to match the Vallejo paints.

Vallejo is A+ quality.

It is now the only paint I use. With Testors dull coat and primer.

No bad fumes

can thin it with water

eye drop bottles make it easy to mix paint and easy clean up

great price

best acrylic paint for metallic paints. From personal exp. I have had a rough time finding a acrylic paint with good metallic looking qualities. Most I have used were either too dull, too shiny, or flaked a bit.

Take a look at my Wehrmacht compilation:

Awesome R-OWS, I think I've seen that before but I made sure to save it for future reference this time. Thanks for your effort on that.

Thanks. It was rewarding for myself and some friends with who I had some argue about my painting style and choice of color.

Quick question.  Does anyone know the Vallejo paint used for the Churchhill green.

Thanks

Believe it or not, Russian Uniform (924) is the recommended color for British tanks from the Vallejo line. Flames of War has it in a spray can from the "War Paint" range as well for base coating, it is called British Armour (SP01). They are the same color.
