Transport ClarificationOK-
If a unit has the transport ability and can carry one soldier... does that include a light artillery piece?
To transport a light artillery piece don't you need to have the light towing SA?
For example, (in our tourney game) a Kubelwagon is transporting a 20mm Flak. The 20mm Flak is light artillery. The Kubelwagen Transport SA says it can carry a soldier. While you use your soldier attack values against arty pieces... does that superceed the light towing SA and allow any vehicle to transport anything with a soldier subtype?
I protested since a 20mm is an artillery...but we let is slide to get on with the game. I was curious as to fellow player's opinions.
Thanks

There are multiple types of transport:
1. Heavy Transport
2. Gun Transport
3. Transport
4. Exposed Transport
5. Light Towing
1 is the most powerful, followed by 2. I think both 3 and 4 can carry light arty, not just 5, as the "Light Arty" SA says that the unit can be carried by a unit with the transport SA. That why we are saying Sdkfz 2 is so useless.

If the transport ability is the "Transport" SA then yes it can carry a light artillery piece.

I don't believe so. Light Towing I believe is a subset of the transport SA. It can only transport a light artillery piece. It can't transport anything else.
Heavy Transport can transport any two 'Soldiers' (infantry or artillery) although you might rule that it can only transport one gun although I don't think this is an official ruling. Heavy Transport is the only transport unit that can transport artillery with the 'Large' SA.
Units with the 'Gun Transport' SA can transport any artillery piece that is not 'Large'. It can also transport a infantry unit but not at the same time it is towing a gun. This one occasionally causes some confusion because of the wording. You have to take the wording literally. Halftracks basically have the 'Gun Transport' and the 'Transport' SAs.
Units with the 'Transport' SA can carry one infantry unit or one light artillery piece.
Units with the Light Towing SA can only carry an artillery piece with the 'Light Artillery' SA. The unit can not carry infantry units.

OK- that answer makes the most sense so far. Thank you.
