Tournament Formats

I'm putting togeather a War at Sea Weekend for my cousins.  A few weekends back we kicked the wives/girls/parents etc out for the weekend to play WAS for three days strait - it was awesome.

But now I need some good ideas for tournament formats.  I was wondering what WAS tournament formats has everyone played and what did they like, what did/didn't work etc.

Look for the one in the sticky titled something like "A quick tournament" - by a guy at the LGS (submitted by me).

We play it all the time, and it works awesomely (is that a word?) every time.
