Tannhauser.

I'm really tempted to try this game; I love the background. Cool

Has anyone tried it?

Jessie loves it.

If I could make love to it I would.

But people would think I am weird... oh wait... too late.

I own 4 copies of the main game and 2 copies of Novgorod

About the game

it uses a unique system call path finding, so all LOS is done for you.

as of right now there are 3 unit types troop, hero, and legend

troop basic unit
hero - back bone of your squad
legend - A bit more powerful than a hero

A squad may only contain up to 3 heroes and 2 troops or 2 heroes and 3 troops

each squad can only have 1 legend (though there is only one out right now any way)

there are currently 3 factions Union, Reich, and Matriarchy (story line has not mentioned anything about the war in Asia but if they do we may get a 4th Japanese faction) There is also mercenary.

For each unit you create a pack. There is a combat pack, stamina pack, and mental pack. You may only choose 1 or you can make a custom pack but you do NOT get the special bonus equipment.

TACTICS

Union - Heavy guns and smoke grenades

Reich - Demonic powers and close combat

Matriarchy- Tesla powered weapons and far ranged combat

I've got a couple of days off, i'll try it now that i bought a couple of extra character units.
The map looks great too. Very Happy

I've had my first game tonight:

First impressions:

A LOT of rules and counters. It almost put me off at first. Rolling Eyes
But a few turns in i finaly got it and had a great time.
It is fast paced, has awesome minis and a great map, and has certainly a lot of play options.
The background is nice too, WWI never ended...It has a sort of Indiana Jones feel to it. The bad "occult" nazis against heavily armed Union soldiers.
Something else, this is a two players game even if i played it solo tonight. I'll introduce it to my friends tomorrow night for our regular gaming wednesday night. Played solo, i could only imagine all the bad surprises that could have happened to one side or another.
Ok, that's it for tonight...i'll give it another go on the other map now. Cool

yup, lots of pieces, looks pretty intimidating at first. After a game or 2 it is not bad.

But I have made set up and space a lot more easy and condensed with cards.
