hey some 1oo Yards of sea water will block the LOS much better than a smoke cloud and the Subs with submerged shot can shoot at other local subs with no penalty so we houserule that the concealment only works if the submarine will shoot at surface units and vice versa.

Most subs used periscopes for targeting. Smoke would still block line of sight.

Yes, they do. They would save themselves on a roll of 6.

I am confident that it will be errata'd to the Smoke Screen ability from the Rules Clarification document.

I am confident that it will be errata'd to the Smoke Screen ability from the Rules Clarification document. | Especially since the last time they worded smoke this way, it was so errata'd.
