Let me see if I have this right. Spotter actually applies to two things. One is the SA which gives a bonus to friendly aircraft within 4 hexes of the unit that has the Spotter SA. The second use of Spotter is the actual unit where Spotter is a unit subtype. These units may or may not have the Spotter SA. The Spotter unit subtype is used by units that have the Indirect Fire SA. The only units that have the Spotter unit subtype so far in the game are as follows:

Red Army Forward Observer [SU]
Concealed Forward Observer [UK]
Disciplined Spotter [GE]
FO Jeep [US]
Rangers [US]

Is all this correct so far?

So on to the real question. What am I supposed to do with the Japanese 70mm Type 92 gun with the Indirect Fire SA? Japan doesn't have a unit that I'm aware of that has the Spotter unit subtype. Do I just designate a unit to have the Spotter unit subtype, say one of the commanders? I would assume that a unit with the Spotter subtype will be coming out in the next set. Odd that they wouldn't have announced this already given the omission introduced by the 70mm.
