Hi,
i've a couple questions to Sindor.
what do you mean with lend-lease units? (sorry, i don't understand the term).
And about the tanks... which of the following are specifically heavy tanks, and in consequence i cannot play with?
- T26
- BT7
- BA10 M
- T35
Thank you.
Good luck, Karpovian

Lend-lease vehicles were supplied by Britain and USA to Soviet Union. But not before 1941.
Heavy russian tanks are KV-1, KV-2 and T35. None of them were present in Poland.

Very nice map.
To be fair, I must inform both sides, that only one of each three mines is "active"; the rest are fakes.
And, infantry of the player of minefield knows where the mines are, so the are immune on them.

Sindor, while we wait for Karpovian assault phase, i have a couple questions for you.
1st I',m not sure to know how works Covering Fire. it says "Instead of attacking in the assault phase..." does this mean that covering fire can be used ONLY in assault phase?
2nd, after this first battle i've to face karpovian again, this time playing allies and him playing axies, but... we will play the same scenario or will re-roll for deploy and scenario selection, like first time? I'd like the second option, but i'm only asking. Whatever you've considered to it's ok for me, of course.

Ok then, my assault.
BA10 moves to D1
Degtyarev B and maxim B move to D5
Degtyarev A and maxim A move to D4
The other grenadier keep position.
And now the shoots:
Fanatical sniper shoots Determined Infantrymen at I5
Rolls: (4d6) w/ +1 (crack shot)
|
PeterGol
|
Maxim near to the sniper first shoot to the same infantrymen at I5
Rolls: (6d6)
Cover if necessary Rolls: (1d6) saves with 4
|
PeterGol
|
Second shoot to the same unit (the infantrymen at I5)
Rolls: (6d6)
Cover if needed Rolls: (1d6)
|
PeterGol

Summary
- Det infantrymen at I5 is disrupted.
Turn 2 begins, rolling for initiative

1st: Covering fire works in the assault phase. It allows you to disrupt immediately some unit, which can be finished by someone else. Useful when you statistically expect that the enemy will not be destroyed (but I am using it rarely; this still waits on some brilliant idea to be reworked - original SA is IMHO too strong).
2nd: Yes, second option is correct. Another map. You may not choose the same as now (it was written somewhere before).

Ok, thank you very much!
Taking advantage of you're here, i have another question not regarding to the rules but an unit: the sd kfz 303 Goliath (set 5)... it says that can choose an enemy unit at range 4 or less... but doesn't mention if must have LOS to it... i wonder if it works w/o LOS to the enemy unit??

With LOS, I have omitted this information. It is a guided mine, therefore you have to see where you guide it. Never used it myself, too unpredictable.

Sindor

Sorry for the mines: Westen has reminded me, that the mines are not polish
The mines deployment zone is 4 hexes max. from your own deployment zone. They are defensive weapons, not offensive !
Ask Karpovian if he accepts the current situation.

I thought it only applies to the barbed wire, since in the mines stat card it says nothing about it.
I have no problem to change position if Karpovian doesn't accept the situation.
I disagree with this rule in one thing. IMO, mines, barbed wires, etc, shouldn't be allowed adjacent to the objective hex.

I'm sorry Peter I just wanted to ask what are the current rules for mines, because i had the idea to use them for myself. They were used differently in the Fin/Rus game. Didnt want to disturb this game....

Don't worry at all, the rules are the same for everyone of us, and of course I accept them. I didn't know that my mines weren't correctly deployed. Doesn't matter.
|
Sindor
|
And I forgot which side these mines belong to
Anyway, all obstacles and fortifications follow the same rule - they cannot be deployed in opponent's area (therefore the limit of 6 hexes from one side).
Deployment around objectives occurs in the defensive scenarios, which you might encounter in semi-finals

Determained Infrantyman - He is disrupted and does not move. My fault for not implementing disrupted counters in my Vassel Mod yet. J4 group does not move.

Sindor

| karpovian wrote: | Mines - Lets keep them where they are and press on. Im more for learning, and I hope not to cause delays any more |
Look, on 3 hits (= 50%) the mine will disrupt an infantry. On 3x "6" (unprobable) it will be destroyed. In both cases, the mine is removed. That's why these things cost 1 pt only
|
PeterGol
|
Ok, my movement
BA10 goes to C2 and Sniper to D1
Everyone else stays put.
Your Cavalrymen at H7 found one of the real mines, so I roll 6 dice... usually in our games we roll for every unit inside the minefield... i don't know if this is right, so i will roll for both your units, and wait for Sindor to decide if it's ok.
Mine for cavalrymen A Rolls: (6d6)
Mine for cavalrymen B Rolls: (6d6)

You really give me a hard time Yes, if they enter in the same turn, they are both affected. After this, remove the mine from the battlefield.

Yes, you're right about the sniper, can only be atacked at close range.
I am assuming everyone else of your forces stays put.
H5 mines were fake ones, so great notice for the browning

I apologise, Im going to have to resign. I have been unable to keep up, real life has been interferring (part of which is that Im going to be a father!) and I feel bad about how long this has already taken.

Ok, it's a pity you cannot continue ...
PeterGol wins and goes to semi-finals. His opponent will be The Mighty A, as he finished first.
I will post semi-final maps soon.
I strongly reccomend to all players to find common playing times - these games might have been finished in half an hour on internet, not in four weeks

Yeah, it's a pity
I was enjoying the game, would like to win in a better way.
Waiting for your commands Sindor.
About common playing times... it's difficult to manage considering there's a whole ocean between us, hehe but will try, of course.
Karpovian, congrats!! Being father seems to me a little bit important than defeat a Spaniard guy in a silly WWII minis game, lol (but hey, just a little). My best wishes.
