Resourceful Hero

In a reent game, my Stug got destroyed.  The Resourceful Hero moved into the hex and wanted to use the tank to fire at another tank.  Since the Stug was facing away from the enemy tank, and has no turret, we ruled he couldnt use the tanks main gun...  

Of course, we also argued the Hero shouldnt be able to use the main gun anyway, and only the machine gun for anti infantry.  Since that was coaxial and facing the wrong way, we said he couldnt use it either.  

The main questions are, can the Hero use the main gun or just the machine gun or can he use either at will?

As long as the RH stays in the hex, the Hero may choose to use the attack dice of the destroyed unit but none of the SA's (including NO TURRET) affect it.  Of course, he may still use his own attack dice if he wishes.

Yep, he's kinda like masterchief, he can flip a tank even when its stuck in the other direction!

I didnt know he was a Jedi crossover unit!  Wow!  That's real power to ignore an SA and fire backwards using a tank gun.
