Ranger Spotters

I never noticed this before, but surely others have.  Is there some reason why the Ranger is designated a "Soldier - Spotter" but does not have the "Spotter" SA?  What gives?  Just cuz it's designated as a Spotter-subtype doesn't automatically give it the requisite SA, does it?  Is this a typo that still wasn't fixed in the revised cards or was it intentional?  (Geez I love this question-mark key! Smile)
Steel_Panther

I beleve sence the Rangers are Soldier-Spotter, they can guide Indirect Fire, but since they dont have the Spotter SA, they cannot guide planes. If i'm wrong, please correct me.
Sharpe

Steel Panther is correct.
Amandil

Oh, okay, that makes sense in terms of the card.

Anybody know if that was an intentional thing, or just a screw up that never went away?  Were Rangers good at calling in artillery support or something?  Tom Hanks' character in Private Ryan was a Ranger, I recall...  (Yeah, I have the best military history education! Laughing)
Thuddeus

What's their spotting range? 8 hexes or 4 hexes?
Sharpe

Depends on what the artillery card says.
