RA Forward ObserverWe might need another card design since spotters won't have Attack Dice.
Def 3/6
Speed 2
Cover 3
SPOTTER--One spotter does not count against the limit for stacking or transport. If unit spots during Assault Phase, it may not move.
HUNKER DOWN--At any time, unit may declare that it has gone to ground. After that, unit may not move nor may it be the target of a long range attack. Its spotting range increases to 8 hexes.
RABBITING ON THE AL CAPONE--Unit may spot for Indirect Fire out to 6 hexes.
Cost 2

That is a cool picture.

The cardmakers don't need to change template. They only need to delete the table and the black attack icons.
Very cool photo. What nation is it?

RA / Royal Artillery , so I guess British ? The helmets are quite British too.
By the way, is that Hunkering Down action, something that can be 'undone' ?
I guess not, but it isn't entirely clear from the text to me.
Fluffwise one could say : now I'm moving again.

I'm thinking that when the observer"hunkers down," he spreads out his maps, unpacks his radio, sets up the uberbinoculars, etc. Within the limitations of a short scenario, he can't move again.

Maybe instead of "Hunker Down" we could call it "Observation Post"?
Here is an idea for the card, since they don't have attack values we could use a symbol to represent the spotting ability (since I assume different units will have different values). What do you think about this:

"Observation Post" is good. I don't know how much the spotters will vary from country to country, but they probably will. Please post any ideas you have.

Good job with the spotting symbol, but are we sure we want more than 3 templates. Sharpe will have to add it in the rules if we keep it and the Spotter S.A. will have to be removed.
Also, please move it about half-way down. It's too high on the card.

I think we may have to skip the icon and just put the text for "SPOTTER" in that place.

I couldn't figure out how to move the table, it wasn't cooperating. The Spotter SA wouldn't have to be removed, its the "Rabbiting" SA that pertains to spotting distance. I was also thinking that some units will have "common" SA's, engineers, snipers, commanders, spotters, etc. that we could simplify by using the blank space to the right of the attack tables and using a small pic to signify the SA's dice similar to what was done for the planes bomb dice. For Example:
If we had a symbol for each common SA we could put a simple little key in the rules, but for the most part the symbols would be pretty self explanatory. Its just an idea, it won't hurt my feelings if you don't like it. Just let me know how you want to do the cards and I will do 'em.
P.S. I had a full head of hair before we started this project! Now look what you've done to me!

I might put abilities that all spotters have in the rules rather than on the cards. I already did this for heroes, motorcycles and some others.

I think Buzzkill is a bit on the expensive side He should at least have an initiative value of +5 for those points.
What would the detonation box icon do ? Close assault ?
But please make the layout something one only needs to learn one time. Consistancy is the key to visual designs. Microsoft doesn't spend millions over the design as something like the 'start' button for nothing.
As there are only a few 'spotters' I think it should just be an SA. It's not worth an icon.
