This subforum is very inactiveShould we merge it with the WAS research in a common WW2 research section? This would also solve the problem of air-related threads that are sometimes posted in AAM and sometimes in WAS research, as well as non-specific subjects that are posted in the lounge instead of WW2 research.

Sounds good to me.
A generic WW2 research subforum?

I think I am the only one who disagrees. I have been using this sub forum quite a bit and combining them together would really increase the difficulty in finding the threads I use the most often. Some of the threads were titled the way they were because they are in the AAM thread rather than the Research thread. Think about the new people coming in here and how they use the forum. I have been around here for awhile and know that sometimes I have to go three of five levels down to find something as I know it's there somewhere, but a new guy will most likely not go that deep.
Also, just because no one is posting here does not mean no one is reading these posts. Because of the knowledge needed I can simply not post anything here without looking like a fool. Those who do post here actually know something that is not normally known. That's why we call it research. Special knowledge from special people. It would be good to not muddy the water here with the two very different kinds of knowledge.

I'm guessing most people that play both games wouldn't mind a merge. I'd go along with a merge since I fall into that group and don't mind a little WWII historical data no matter what it's about.
But if we go ahead with a merge then what does that due to the general forum structure and should we maybe think about merging or splitting other subforums? I for one would love to see house rules split off from custom cards. The vast majority of content in both the land and naval subforums on this topic are about custom cards. Sorting through the custom cards content to find house rules not specifically related to custom cards is a pain in the ass.

NjCo brings up some good points. First that some members like both the wet and the dry sides of the forum. And second the need for an organized way of finding things. In the time the forum has been in operation a lot of information has been laid down. Finding it is generally getting to be more and more difficult, and when you know a thread exists it then becomes difficult and frustrating.
What I am proposing is either going to be no big deal or a enormous headache for many people, including myself. One way to look at it is to leave what we have alone or two, sort the forum the wet side from the dry side. I know FoW has some commonality with AAM, but does it deserve it's own heading? Could we have a heading under wet side, dry side and commons?
There are times I get a bit of a sore finger from all the scrolling down to the common area, and if there are half a dozen posts down there it can become quit sore.

You can move quickly between AAM and WAS by clicking on the Tiger and the Yamato (left and right side of title). Does this help?
