200 point Sherman Tank Swarm

Hey,

So I developed this army for a 200 point NA match I am having in 2 weeks.  It consists of 8 sherman tanks.  Here it is:

M4A1 Sherman x4 = 84
M4A1 Sherman Commander x1 = 33
Veteran M4A1 Sherman "Rhino" x2 = 52
M4A3 105 Sherman x1 = 24
Headquarters x1 = 7

Total - 200

I think this is a very formidable army.  Fast, reliable, strong tanks.  And headquarters can always be helpful.  I don't have too many worries for this army when playing on an NA map, mostly if I just run into a bucnh of German Extended range heavies or 88's; then I have a problem.  Other than that I think this can pretty much take on anything.

How do you guys think this will do in an NA game?

How do you think the army is in general?

Rating - 9 out of 10.  I want to give it a 10, but against German Extended Range I think that is enough of a problem to mark it down to a 9.  Other than that, infantry can't touch this army, and with 8 tanks, not too many tank armies can do much either...SWARM!!!!

See if your army can beat this German army:
3 x Vet Tigers plus a lone WVI

I once caught offguard by this build (I was using an army of Panzer IVs, Brummbars, etc):
1 x Sherman Commander
7 x M4A1 Sherman
1 x Early M4A1

It'd be a tough one, but if I can out run and out hide the tigers then I think I might just be able to do it.  Of course I would need good rolls.  I used that run, hide, strike tactic before and it won be a game against an army like the one you posted above.  Shermans are good...but as I said in my rating, they are vulnerable to German ER, even wit 8 of them.  And the WVI wouldn't do anything except die.

Wat if they use all heavy Close Assault infantry and hide so you need to be in Close Assault range to shoot them?

HM, I will just hve to rely on my Shermans long range AI attack, which is fairly good.

Well, what kind of scenario are you playing? I remember one game I played with my friend where I was defending a town, and I knew he was going to bring plenty of tanks on me, so I brought a ton of close assault infantry (ex, flamethrowers, enginneers, ect.) and hid it so the enemys did not have LOS untill I could close assault them...needless to say, my defence was succesful, and a couple Cromwells as reinforcements after 7 turns drove them off...

I think we are just doing a battle scenario on an NA map.

Like capture the town, normal objective, destroy the enemy...

Oh, yes it is capture the town.  THere is a town in the center of the map and the objective is to capture it.

Just one hex, or a few hexes? If it is a few hexes, they could hide some high close assault infantry so that you cant get LOS to them untill you are right next to them. That could be a problem. But if its only one hex, it shouldnt be any trouble.

It may be a few hexes, but the town is in the middle of the map.  Not one of us is in the town, the town is neutral and the goal is to capture the town and kill the enemy.
