My theory is that this SNLF paratrooper was part of an Axis cross training program. Being a tough paratrooper joining the SS made sense. His goal was to fight with the Germans and then go back to Japan to share his experience.

Hey, maybe the SNLF and Waffen SS might have been sharing ways to exact unnecessary brutality on the battlefield and upon civilians. A trade program. The exchange for him was an SSNLF Fanatical Stormtrooper Type 89.
