Rules and Rule Questions

I guys heres the rules-

Keep it simple
-I'm the Boss (I am not playing but acting as a Referee)

All missions are pre-set forces.

You will win battles according to the actual outcome of the battle, You will be scored with a number between 0-10 (10 being an absolute walk over)
Battles will be rated like this a slight win will go 6-4 (winner-loser). I will rate the match.

You will play the same match twice against different opponents and on the opposite side you where last time.

At the end of 4 maps a winner will be decided by the total points earned.

Question 1 when do we start? well how about Tomorrow, Players  can join anytime
but still have complete the maps. End date to be announced
Sindor

Question 2: Which Rule Set and Cards Set? WotC Revised Cards + Advanced Rules,  I suppose?
Lt_V

Q3...are the maps from WotC or are they custom maps? will we be able to see the maps/forces in advance of the match?

With the help from sindor they are custom maps Very Happy
Lt_V

Sweet, I was looking at some of the custom maps in the online section and there are some fabulous designs there....what about the foreknowledge about the maps/army builds? Very Happy
RAEVSKI

I will post up first scenario today.

By Advanced rules, do you mean the expended rules rules set published in 2007 which includes rules like Grazing Fire, Overwatch and Enfilade Fire?

No, these are not free. He means the normal rules that come with the starter set. They are called advanced.
Sire Fred

Thanks Neural Dream. I'll stick to the original rules. I checked the new stats cards and realized that the Japanese are less competitive. The Ha-Go light tank doesn't have the cool Forest Runner SA anymore. The Ho-Ni tank destroyer now have an Open Back SA. But their ATG is cheaper.
The Mighty A

Question on the victory conditions for Japan.  When it says to exit one platoon, does that mean the number of infantry in a platoon (5) or does it mean the exact units in one platoon?  So, if all the knee mortars are killed, does that deny the Japanese player from exiting off one platoon?

eqvillant to 1 platton in size Smile 5 models any less and the Aussie gets bonus points
The Mighty A

Thanks.  That makes more sense.

RAEVSKI,

We are on turn 3, where do the Universal Carrier and the Aid Station enter the game? Do they enter from the left side of the board, are they spawned at KB or can you place them anywhere?

No, don't appologize - the HHR rules are more complex and even if working well now, they need a lot of work to be transformed into high-quality game.

I see you have finished the maps yourself, I will try to post the "Russian Steppe" this weekend.
RAEVSKI

yeah , i not very good. i can't create one, just modify one Very Happy
Lt_V

RAEVSKI,

Does the Aussie infantry move 2 on the track as well?
RAEVSKI

I say yes, i forgot about that. i was trying to make a real difference between jungle and normal
Lt_V

perfect, thx...I was thinking of a head on Aussie charge so the 2 hex movement on the track helps that.....not really Laughing
Upuaut

officer as spotter

1x 70 mm Battalion gun (Imperial Sergeants can spot for this unit, if the Sergeant is within 4 hexes of the Gun.)

1x 2 inch morter use US 60mm mortar ( Can be spotted by Officers that are within 4 hexes of the mortar)

Question: can these officers move the phase they spot, or are they like normal spotters and can't move if they spot? and is the spotting range 4 hexes, or the new revision version of 8 hexes?
RAEVSKI

go question ............ Answer yes they can move but not in Assault Smile

Upuaut

and is spotting range 8 hexes like the revised spotters?
RAEVSKI

Yes, I like the fact you can spot with officers it makes them more useful
Lt_V

RAEVSKI,

You said the aid station and UC was to enter with the aid station loaded onto the UC...can I drop the aid station and move the UC away from it?
RAEVSKI

Yes the idea was you placed aid station and you moved on to help your comrades
The Mighty A

Do the fields in E7 and E8 give any cover?
Lt_V

Yes, the fields in E7 and E8 give cover but do not block line of sight...good luck Smile
Upuaut

is a disrupted commander still able to spot?
carrion

Is in-direct fire in use in round two.
RAEVSKI

Same indirect rules as last match.
Upuaut

Are we using the new revised cards, or sticking with the old school for the duration of the historical tournament, eg revised cards changed soviet tank transport to exposed transport. Also what about new revised rules like stacking 3 per hex, are we using those, or stick with pre-revision rules?
