Some really nasty looking builds. Lots of Hellcats and Avengers, even on the British sides, that must tell us that even for 12 and 16 points, they are well worth the buy.

Gross Admiral- I pm'd my fleet to you but it's not in my delivered box. I just posted knowing you have Okie's already.
I have sent at least 9 pm's this last week that have not been delivered, only one person, TF 57 has received my pm's. Very frustrating. Anyway, I am ready to begin what should be a very short match. 50 points? I don't even like 100 point matches. What happens if you lose your admiral? Does he have to be in every fleet you play? I noticed packertim lost every ship in game 1, does he lose his admiral? Kind of hard to plan if we don't know. Do you designate a ship he is in for the whole tournament? Otherwise, it's easy to put him in a ship and never play it. I also just started this deathmatch tournament even though I begged to play yesterday and that didn't happen either, I am playing someone who is 14 hours ahead of me and we haven't even started and then this starts!

If Yopu lose your Admiral he is gone forever.
No you do not have to deploy your Admiral. If you do, just state which Ship or Sub he is in when Submitting your fleet. Onlty the where abouts of your Admiral is Known to you and the Mod you sent your fleet too. No packertim did not state that he brought his admiral, so he still has his. He just can't deploy the "Dead" Units any more Next Round your Fleets will be 75pts in size max. Don't worry about having a time constraint on completion of your game. Just do the best you and your Opponent can do time wise. I am still waiting for my game to start as well. |

Well, maybe I'm taking this more seriously than I should but if it's a tournament I want to do well and it helps to know all the rules beforehand and what the format is. I never expected anything less than 100 point matches since, to me, they simply aren't very much fun, especially in my position but whatever, it is what it is, I'll do my best.
Do you have a list of rules and special rules for this, if any? Did I miss that somewhere? The admiral thing really bothered me because I don't ever recall reading that you don't have to deploy him so what is the point of deploying him or not deploying him? The fleet is bought and paid for, does he add some extra benefit not on the card if you DO deploy him? If he goes down with the ship, what happens then? All mine does is make 2 of my ships cheaper, that's it. And just for the record, he is NOT deployed in this first game. Also, just for the sake of asking, since it's an objective grab for the most part, what happens if you just concede? I'm not saying I'm doing that but if you just concede and move to the one loss bracket but lose no ships, that's a rather decent benefit isn't it, especially if you have a terrible matchup. Please clarify these when you get the chance, thanks. |

Well, that makes sense to me and I probably might lose the least if my admiral went down but whatever, it's all good, I just like to know the rules and format before, makes it easier to plan stuff out, build fleet, etc. | ||||

@DaJudge: There has been no official consolidated rules posting. You just have to hunt through this forum and the WaS General forums for hints as to what is going on.
@PotRN: GRA already answered this one. Admirals that affect costs affect the 400 pt fleet. This means that the ships have been bought and paid for, and retain the cost that the Admiral gave them. One reason that you would deploy your admiral with your fleet is that some give a bonus to rolls, etc. Mine gives a bonus to Destroyer and Torp rolls. I chose not to deploy him this first game, however, as my heaviest ship was the Yahagi, and I didn't want to take the chance that he would be sunk this soon in the tournament. I suppose that you could concede and move to the 1 loss bracket if you wanted to, but that'd be kind of dumb. |

Well, thats a great idea except when he dies, it costs 20 points to buy a new one and all the good ones are GONE. lol
I didn't save 20 points for another admiral, I'd rather have ships and planes. |

My position isn't that great either. IMO Germany owns the 50 pt game. I am playing against a German now. Games start small Possibilty of playing 6 games with 400 pts worth of Stuff. Do You want to lose cause you have Nothing to Deploy? Looking at your Admiral, His Ability only boosts Unit Cost. If your guy dies, you still get the bonus when Making your fleets, as Aqua said, they are bought and pd for. I would have Saved the 20 pts and tried to get him killed to get a new one. I personally like the French Guy that gives a bonus to the Vital Armour. Those Kongos would be cheaper and Stronger, for 20 pts You have 8 I-19's. They are nasty You can win and not take an objective. But if you start a game without any Surface Vessels, You will Award your Oppnent VP= 1 objective. You can retreat, But only after rd 4. To retreat you must be Able to "Move" off the board. you can only retreat back through your Deployment Zone. *Remember

Yes! Round 1 is history, who is next? Some surprises that round as the dreaded Long Lance torpedoes did very well and took out what looked to be stronger fleets.
I'm sure we'll get a bracket and matchups pretty soon. |

It's been so long, I can't even remember. We also ADDED points back into our fleets and then had losses in each game.
Something to consider for the semifinals is simply to build new fleets and start fresh or something but that's up to whoever is actually running this tournament.
