Night Play questions...So I was wondering how the escort SA works with night play. If the fighter misses its search check, it is placed in the square with an aborted marker. Since the escort ability reads:
IF THIS UNIT IS IN THE SAME SECTOR AS A FRIENDLY BOMBER, ENEMY FIGHTERS GET -1 ON EACH ATTACK DIE WHEN MAKING ANTIAIR ATTACKS AGAINST THIS BOMBER
I think the escort SA should apply. The unit is in the same sector, other times when a fighter is aborted the escort ability still works, and the fighter is following its own planes (whether it shoots at anything is really depended on if opposing planes find it).
Although on the flip side one could argue the abort token was placed the phase before, thus not similar to a classic aborting.
What is your read on the escort SA with the night rules?

I believe that escort would work the same as Shadowing and shut off if the relevant plane is aborted. I may be wrong, though.

Escort actually does continue to work, I asked this question over at the Gleemax boards and they confirmed it. The link can be found in the "Clarified SA's" sticky.

Thanks...I thought I looked through them and must have missed the answer. I usually stop there first.

No problem, this one was just on the top of my head since I had to ask the same question myself.
