Need help at map creation

So, after some trials a first map (online part of a map):



Here is it in original size (150dpi).

First a want to know:
- do you like the style of the town?
- do you like the forest?
- is some one here how can give me some tips?

Town is o.k., forest is strange - it looks more like a puddle. I will try to use PSP and show you some alternative.

Here is the sample: used PSP 9.0 with Clone brush with forest textures (found by Google). Done quickly in 5min, it can be much better Wink :
