I'm thinking we should wait for TA to be delivered before we start a new season but in the mean time we can get the clubs sorted.

I'm in for Free-France
SeaAngel

I was trying to reach your nose, but you kept turning your head!!!

I'm in. Club KM will rule the waves that Brittania once ruled! (Sorry, getting too much into the role.)

Yes, I want the TA cards in the tourney!
ticat1

I'm in with ijn.

That said this will be the first time I'm actively participating in this so I'm not quite sure what my requirements are.  Can someone let me know what I just signed up for, lol?  Or link me to the rules.

We won't have them yet, but if you look at the Theater Club rules that just finished, it will be similar. Several months of all the fights we can handle!
ticat1

Ok sweet.  In in for sure
firesdstny

woohoo!  Good for you ticat!

I'm in - not sure what nation yet.  Probably RM, but I've been known to switch to bolster the unrepresented Very Happy
Vetnor

I'd like to join in if I can.

I don't know when I will be getting the TA cards.

I'm not sure how this is organized but I'll give it a go.

Can I choose ANZUS?

If not maybe Commonwealth?

1st step is to join a National Club. Look at the list of National Clubs and pick the one that suits you best. Only then can you represent one of them in a National Club Tourney. Your choice does NOT limit you in any way EXCEPT at official, National Club tourneys. At all other times you play what you want!

Also, you won't "need" the TAe cards to play online, they will all be up here on the forum by then.
Flakstruk

I was thinking we should allow home/away matches.

Ie I as club FFN play fires CRM, I play as Italy and he as France but my win goes to CFFN - so long as you club nation is in the match it's fair and allows a bit of diversity.
firesdstny

@ Vetnor

Club RN includes the commonwealth nations and could seriously use the active participants Smile  That is the club I was debating switching to, as RM has some activity online again with SeaAngel, Phoenix_jz, and ROUS playing.

RN is a bit driftless at the moment.

Right now National League tourney allows you to play only with the units listed for your nation against another player's nation.

@Flak

The home/away concept was created for the Theater leagues to keep them balanced and differentiate them from the national league.  It also helped ensure that Club Pacific running USN/IJN can't dominate the Euro clubs, and so that the CP guys don't always have to play 1941 and occasionally '42 restricted builds as they most often will face their prime opponent in a home and away series.  The home/away games are not required, but it also helped give each theatre more balance, as you have to make sure your internal fleets are able to compete with each other effectively.

In that regards, I don't think the home/away concept translates nicely to the National Leagues.  The nations of W@S are definitely not created equally.  The national league is more about pridefully playing for your country and bringing the best you can against whatever your opponent offers you.  IJN and USN certainly have advantages, but because of that they frequently play each against each other, or they go most often with the restrictors (year, OOB, etc) in place vs. the Euros.  Either way there is some variety for them.

I'm not against altering the National League match type, but I think having you play outside your home nation swings the needle back towards the Theatre clubs and the two "leagues" lose their distinctiveness.

That's fine. I'm really excited about this years nationals, nearly 60 theatre league games is outstanding
hokiepastor

I need to join a national club as well. What clubs need active members?
Vetnor

Ok I would like to join the RN  only because I want to play with Australian, New Zealand and Canadian units.

Woohoo Vetnor!  Just put up a post in the Club RN HQ to that affect and read through how to get the Avatar etc.  Right now there is no active President for Club RN, so just represent!

hokiepastor wrote:

USN is pretty well stabled
IJN is also.
RM has 3 - 4 active now (woohoo!)
KM has 3 - 4 active (GJ Azrael!)
Club Red has 2 - 4 active (mostly squint and gman, but Solo is around - they won last year I believe)
FFN is probably hurting the most.  Flak and I don't know who else are rolling for the French.
RN has a lot of members, but very very little activity.  Swished3 is the only "active" member that I know of who is playing matches, although Adm Woodside returned and Vetnor just joined.
VFN (Vichy French) has 2 players active for online matches (mnnorthstars and nrnstraswa), but they haven't played a huge number of games.
SeaAngel

Careful!  CUSN won last year.

In general all the clubs other then the usn and ijn could use another active member if you have a preference.

Club Red does not acknowledge that those capitalist pig-dogs took the season championship last year. Be warned, we will be gunning for that title.

Actually can't wait for the season to begin.  Out of the TN deck, only had the Marat and G-5 available to us last season. 8 new cards to pick from this year.  Might not seem like a whole lot, but for the Soviets those new cards represent endless options.

And if any of you unaligned players out there want the challenge, Club Red is always looking for new comrades to ship to the front.  Errr... I mean help take us to glorious victory.
SWO_Daddy

Club USN will be waiting gents.  The Back-to-Back Champs hereby issue the challenge...

Bring it!
Vetnor

OK I've joined ClubRN.

What now?
SeaAngel

"Up Spirits"?  Good to have you have you in a National Club Vetnor!

Now, you wait Very Happy
Play some for fun games Smile  (like our convoy game)

The Nationals will be starting soon enough
LcdrSwizzle

Ah, a question comes up to me:

Are there year-limits in this tourney? Are we all stuck in 1945?

just wondering which units to start dusting off!
SeaAngel

Year is agreed upon by the players before each game starts.

This allows RM players like me to play against IJN or USN on an relative even footing.
Flakstruk

Very glad to see this level of excitement already.

12-7 reckons decks will be out around the end of April. There's the post set tourney to consider, probably all of may and into June.

How's about we estimate the start of the league around the start of July? Is that too far off?
hokiepastor

I'm in for Club RN!

July is probably about right.
