Hearts of Iron II

Hey, I know Hearts of Iron III is soon to be released, which has prompted me to replay Hearts of Iron II, I have played the game as far as 44 (Starting in 36) as Germany, USA, Russia and Japan. Currently I am attempting the Italians. Man, if any of you have advice, I'd like to hear it. How the heck do you stabilize Italy's economy and strategic recources, they just keep on spiralling downward for me. Anyone out there with any ideas?

I've always sucked as the Italians too. One possibility is to disband a couple of units. After winning in Ethiopia I generally disband the militia units there and bring my other army units home so you don't need to run too many convoys there, that often helps. Sometimes I get rid of my calvary units also. You can then use the excess supply production to trade for stuff with the Germans or whoever to keep your economy running.

Good Idea, Swarbs. I'll try this out, Although I hate the idea of disbanding anything. I'm greedy that way. Nice to find someone else who enjoys this bear of a game. The one country I'm almost afraid to try is Great Britain. There holdings are so vast I'm worried that it might be a real job just trying to keep up with everything.

Yep, this is definitely a great game. I'll have to look for the new one. I also haven't yet played the most recent Europa Universalis game, I'll have to pick that one up too.
