Field of Glory ruleset - anyone using? We're getting interested in some Ancient action with Rome against her various enemies. Has anyone used the Field of Glory ruleset and if so what did you think of it? Also, can you recommend any specific manufacturer's figures (25-28mm)?
Looking online I see Crusader Miniatures, Warlord Games, and Wargames Factory as possibilities for the figures.
Thanks!

ARK and I are considering it. For now I'm using WAB, but I'm increasingly frustrated with the way that set seems to be lagging. I have heard several people speak highly of it.

Although I don't play it myself, at the last Bayou Wars gaming con I went to the local chapter of the Historical Miniature Gaming Society (HMGS) were using Fields of Glory in place WRG's De Bellis Antiquitatis at the Norbert Gisclair Memorial Ancients Tournement. For years DBA was the standard ruleset for most ancients. That the HMGS switched to FoG probably speaks volumes for it.
Judging by what I saw at the Con if you want to play in tournaments you may want to go with 15mm. However if you wanna go with 28mm by all means do so. Wargames Factory is producing some excellent 28mm figures including some fantastic Celtic British Chariots.
Salut y'all!

Yeah, DBA was awesome. Yet another B&P ruleset destroyed by people trying to turn it into something it wasn't...

I still play DBM but most of the people I know now play FoG. I have played some but it has way too much die rolling for me so I still prefer DBM. Okie
