Determination rulingExeter's Determination ruling is confusing to some people and needs clarification-
I have posted the card below but the text states that-
Whenever this unit would be destroyed, roll a die, on a 5 or higher, the destruction is prevented and the unit remains with one hull point.
Example-
Myoko attacks crippled Exeter with main guns- the result is a hit and would result in the destruction of Exeter.
Myoko also attacks with secondary guns and the result is another hit which would destroy Exeter.
Myoko also fires torpedos and gets one hit which would obviously result in Exeter's destruction.
My assessment- Exeter needs to make one determination roll for each successful attack that would result in her destruction.
Other's have said that destroyed counters are placed face down and not dealt with until the end of the phase and that one Determination roll, if successful, would negate ALL THREE successful attacks by Myoko. That's ridiculous, in my opinion, but the question remains. If anything, Exeter would get 3 destroyed counters as a result of the 3 successful attacks and would have to roll for all 3 anyway but the card text trumps that with "whenever this unit would be destroyed" and that happens on the first attack and requires a die roll, per the card. When in doubt the card is always right.
