Convoy warsi thought this would be fun you have to win a series of battle to do a convoy run then you get points for how many transports make thoughts questions or anything
ok rules
first off you have to win a certain # of battles to a convoy run( the #s depend on what the players want)
transport dont cost any thing; when a convoy run is done, a transport points are between 5 to 10 points
battles are first 100pts then 200pts then a convoy run 100 pts for convoy defender 70 pts for the attacker then 300 and 500 then another convoy run ( convoy runs depend on who wins the battles and at the points are tallied up(battles are done like regular battles) this is a long war ill post more latter

My son made a North Atlantic convoy game last week - 10 transports (7 Nordmark + 3 Maru's cause that's all we have...) protected by Illustrious (+2 Cudas), Fencer (Swordfish), Kent, Exeter, Jamaica, Ajax and 2 Javelins. Attackers had Scharhorst, Hipper, Galster, Ludermann, Koln, and one of each U-66 and U-510. Rules were the transports had to make it the length of the map (we use the large Hotz map). 6 sunk or 6 across wins.
We also used a houserule for 4 icebergs - basically a squall, except only destroyers and smaller can pass through that hex. Blocks line of sight, moves per squall rules...made for some interesting cat and mouse fun...
Long story short - Scharnhorst made short work of the cruisers and the 3 Maru's, the planes wiped out the subs and destroyers, then the light cruisers (i.e. 7 Nordmarks) sank Hipper and Koln, while the last Cuda scored 2 torps on a damaged Scharnhorst for the win. Final score 6 - 4 defenders (got 1 Nordmark with Hipper)
Tons of fun ! The rematch uses generic transports - no more big guns on the quarry !

I love convoy games. We play some variations on this one.
British start with one or two standard Axis & Allies Infantry on an island defending its onboard airbase.
The Brits only get maybe 75ish points of units that can be placed near the island on a large map.
Germany & Italy get 120 or more points plus x number of transports loaded with regular Axis & Allies Infantry to escort to the island and take it over getting xx number of points and (naturally stealing the on board airbase which can rearm planes every turn like a carrier!). The Germans can land their transports piecemeal or whatever. Usually 2 tanks at 3 and two infantry at 1 can take the island no problem. Touchy landing one transport at a time though.
On the far end of the board the Americans appear on turn two with 75ish points of units to escort an equal number of transports to the island.
I like the Americans to go very air heavy so they can provide the Brits with air cover almost instantly.
Generally we'll try to make the objective worth just less than the value of the entire other navy. Funny what happens if its a "get the island or loose" scenario.
