Convoy Defense100 Point Escort defense fleet. This seems to be the hardest fleet in the game to design so lets see what people can come up with.
My latest that I am looking to try out.
4 John C. Butler
1 San Fransico
1 Saratoga
1 Avenger
1 Dauntless
1 Hellcat
Puts you at 100 on the nose.
A little too much reliance on smoke than I'm comfortable with, but what's everyone else think?

Interesting idea. I like the use of the flotilla leader ability to gain the initiative advantage, hopefully giving you an edge on pre-empting your opponent's moves.
However, I think that the only real way to win the convoy scenario is to go on the offense. If you leave the opponent's fleet on the board long enough, sooner or later it will kill your transports before they make it across the board. I don't think that relying on smoke will win in the end.

You're also spending 63 points on a carrier + air wing. I might spend that on say 4 Clevelands.

Very good point on that one ACS. At that point though I'd be tempted to drop a battleship though instead of that many cruisers.
And the role flexibility of the planes is huge, but I do see what you are saying.

I might try out this one:
4 x Sackville
2 x Leander
2 x Fencer
2 x Martlet
2 x Arunta
100 pts.
Maybe trade out the Aruntas and a Fencer for an Alaska. I don't know... These builds are rough to make.

Thanks and yea you may be right. You could get a Massachusetts/Washington (depending on preference) and another fletcher.

I'm thinking about the Italians as strange as that might seem. Cheap battleship, cheap subs for anti-sub work, cheap fighter, ram, smoke, and now Pegaso. Any thoughts? I can't seem to work out a 100 point fleet I really like.
