Cold War-era GamingA couple of friends and I have been thinking about Modern Spearhead. Anyone play this? How about other Cold War oriented systems, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

For you Cold War commanders, I recommend "Team Yankee", a book I just recently rediscovered while going through some of the boxed remnants of things I was able to save when hurricane Rita took the roof of my mobile home. A good read for this subject matter. While I'm on the subject here's a couple more, "Red Storm Rising" and "The Texas Israeli Wars". Blasts from the Past.

All of Harold's books are good. And you DO NOT want to play Jagpanzer with him

He sort of lost me there after The Ten Thousand. He knows tanking, that's for sure, but...
In any event, I still think Team Yankee is the best of the various WWIII novels floating around out there.

As far as books go Team Yankee is one of the best. I also recommend Gen Sir John Hackett's The Third World War: August 1985 and The Third World War: The Untold Story both of which Harold Coyle based Team Yankee upon. Ronald Reagan supposedly had Sir Hackett's books on his critical reading list.
I also recommend Larry Bond's Red Phoenix (hypothetical Second Korean War) and Vortex (Soviet sponsored Cuban invasion of apartheid era South Africa). Both are rattlingly good yarns.
Salut y'all!
