Boarding Rules?!

The brains behind blowing things up even after they're dead (Myself and Asrimal) have come up with a new and interesting thing to do when you're bored with just blowing stuff up, Boarding Rules!

These rules only work for ships that have the following special abilities.
-Destroyer Hunter
-Cruiser Hunter
-Raider Hunter
-Raider
Right now this applies to the following ships, Admiral Scheer, Admiral Hipper, HMCS Haida, HMAS Sydney, and HMS Jamaica.

Boarding rules work as follows,

If a ship is crippled, another ship with one of the said abilities may enter into its sector during the movement phase, and instead of attacking during the Surface attack phase may, instead, attempt to board the enemy crippled vessel.

A boarding action works much like an attack, but in the case of a boarding action, a successful boarding is worth 25 points, regardless of the ships cost.

The risk is, that the boarded ship may board back.

A boarding action works as such, take a ships complement and for every 100 crew members (its rounded down) that ship gets a die, roll the number of die, and the number of successes is measured against the crew roll of the boarded ship.  If the boarded ship succeeds the roll, they repel the boarders and get a chance to board back.

Alternatively the crew of the boarded ship may attempt a Scuttle Roll on the first turn of boarding, a single die is rolled and on a six the ship is instead destroyed before the boarding action takes place, there is instead no bonus for either side, and the destroyed ship doesn't count towards victory points.  The ship that begins the boarding action cannot attempt a scuttle roll.  A successfully boarded ship is removed from the board.

Kind of a cool idea.  I'm not sure that this should really work against other warships, was there ever an instance of that occuring?  I know, however, that there must have been merchantment/transports boarded (Altmarck incident is the only one I can think of off the top of my head) so it seems like an idea with a place, even if it is a small/obscure one, just the kind of idea that I like sometimes.

this sounds like somethng that would be better for ASW
namely. The sub is crippled, so it bobs up to the surface.
Board the sub, capture it.

How many victory points for capturing an Enigma code machine?  Maybe a seperate roll for subs?

Maybe boarding should just be limited to auxiliaries?  I think that would fit the original intent better, if I understood correctly.  Might have to give up the part about counter-boarding, though.

My $2.

These rules would be cool for a capture the Enigma machine scenario, that'd probably be pretty fun.

You can add this in the current WAS-variant olympic contest.
