Attack with two (or more) ships

Hello! Here is my question: Is it possible to attack with two (or more) ships against enemy who has only one unit in the square? If so, how the second player`s surface attack phase goes? Example, attack with two cruisers against enemy battleship?
Rengokuy

Yes.  You may target the same ship with as many pieces as you want, as long as they are in range.

Some French ships actually gain a bonus if they are attacking a ship that has already been fired upon,

Ok, thanks! And one more: How about the second player phase, I mean when example battleship "shoots back"? Does it shoot both attackers? By the rules, if there are multiple targets, you can only pick one.

It means that it shoots one target with one weapon (main gun, secondary guns, tertiary guns, torpedoes, etc.).  So you can't use your main guns to target two ships.  You've got to chose.

Just to eand a bit with your example.  If 2 cruisers attack one BB the BB could then return fire and target Cruiser A or B with Main guns.  Then target A or B with secondaries and so on.
As stated above each weapon system can only fire once unless it has a SA lie bristling with guns which allows you to fire more than once with secondary guns at different targets.

HTH,

Roger that! Many thanks guys!

Just to further clarify...

In the example of two cruisers shooting at a battleship. When its the battleship's turn to fire it can shoot at anything it wants that's in range. The fact that the cruisers shot at it makes no difference.
In general, each gun battery on a ship can shoot once and can shoot at any enemy unit in range. It doesn't matter how many times the target has been shot at already, nor who the target fired at.

Few more questions:

If example Yamato attack one enemy ship in range, it can use only its main gunnery? Not all (second and tertiary)?

And if it attacks two enemy ships, another with main gunnery and another with secondary gunnery? So you can`t attack one enemy with two or more gun battery?

Is this correct?

You can attack the same enemy with more than one gun battery.  The only caveat is that you roll each gun battery separately, they don't combine into one big attack.

Ok, so if example Yamato has two targets, it can shoot another example with two gunnery battery and another with one?

Yes, Yamato could fire two of its attacks at one target and its third attack at another.   For example, it could fire its secondaries at Baltimore, and then fire its primaries and tertiaries at Cleveland.
