An army for revised WotC card tournament

Even if I don't like the revised WotC cards more than the original ones, I was invited on a tournament with these cards, Axis contra Allies only. What do you think about this combination?

The Locusts:

3x 17-pdr AT gun (13) 39
3x Bofors (9) 27
8x Greek infantry (3) 24
and
1x Inspiring Lt. (10) 10
or
2x Commisar (5) 10
-----------
100 pts netto

The army is almost "historically correct"  Wink

I plan to move the Bofors+17-pdr twinned guns slowly ahead (one or two will cover the rest), while the Greeks will hold the objective and kill anything in sight except the heaviest tanks and aircrafts. As both Bofors & 17-pdrs have an extended range 10, the situation in most cases will be IMHO "Fire and Forget" case.

This could be also a nasty shock for most of the power-gamers with "The heavier tank the better" attitude  Cool

Use Inspiring Hero instead of Insp Lt.

You will have to spawn it from the guns, but other than that consideration, I agree with Sharpe...

Also, the Greek Soldier is much less effective since the revision. Perhaps 6 Garands would be a superior choice.

"Much less" effective?

Fury 2 — This unit rolls two extra attack dice when attacking if one or more of your opponent’s units was destroyed last turn.

= When an enemy is destroyed last turn (what's an usual situation, people get killed in a battle), this unit becomes an infantry with AI 9/7, AV 3 and Close Assault 8 while attacking? For 3 points? What better you can field against these cheap butchers? Cool Garand has AI 8/7 for 4 points (well, 9/8 with an officer behind their backs, but commanders are rather expensive and are a valuable target).

Since you are Tally Ho'ing up with a 5/5 commander I think that the Garands are the better choice. Any turn that you don't kill something is the next turn with useless(or underpowered) Greeks. I would go with the unit that has no drawbacks and plenty of upside regardless of the situation(ie the Garand).
