All Clubhouse Clubs - Thoughts on Heavy Shore Battery?

As I was updating the fleet roster for CSP I stumbled on the heavy Shore Battery. I realize that it's probably the hottest unit in WaS right now, and is a "Neutral" unit. Although it physically represents Fort Drum, I think RB named it HSB on purpose so everybody could use it. What say the Clubhouse to allowing the HSB in all Club fleets (National and Theatre)?

As it represents a generic shore battery, I do believe it should be a universal unit.  Most nations or allies had a form of stationary shore battery and I don't see a different one being printed for the different batteries.

Every nation should have access to it.

I do think, should anyone be so ambitious (and maybe they already have been), custom cards could be made with SAs reflecting specific shore batteries in the war. Give CFS access to a Norwegian battery with torpedoes? Very Happy

Good thoughts fellas.  I believe it should be available to all clubs since it is a generic unit available to any nation.  I'll let the theater club presidents know to add it to there unit list.  Thanks for bringing it up.

I'd let the Nation-specific Club Presidents know to add it as well. All of the nations had shore batteries that could easily be represented by the HSB's stats.

I think it should be available to all clubs.

I agree...it should be available to all clubs.

One related question...should the number of Shore Batteries be limited in Club or League games?  Anybody had to face multiple shore batteries in a game yet?

My take on this is that no unit is restricted unless the players agree to it (such as Historical Limits). So in general it should be unlimited HSB's under an Open build, and if playing to Historical Restrictions I believe it's 1, but again, that's up to the players on their individual match.

Besides, I think a UK assault on a German-held Atlantic Wall type scenario could be really, really cool...

I object :grrr This is unconsitution junk!!! I cannot believe that you guys would think that a sculpt that is obviously Fort Drum could be used by anyone other than the Jpanese and Americans who ACTUALLY used.  real mad THIS IS BULL!!! I will resign from the club house if this is passed.  blow up

Just kidding I am fine with it  Razz  Smile

Ok guys,It is official.  Club presidents:  Please make a note of it in your clubhouse HQs that the Heavy Shore Battery is available to your members in club builds.  I don't feel that a limit on them is necessary at this point.  Bringing more than 2 of them will be a risky move for most players and until it we have any official clarification on how many you are allowed to bring, we will leave it up to our players to decide.  Have fun playing with all the new units!  The National Club League Championship is almost here!!
