200-pt. fleetsOur local game store guy is thinking of starting a WAS league soon, and he'd probably use 200-point fleets as the standard. You'd basically show up and roll for whether you got Allies or Axis, so you'd have to have both prepared.
I've done a few games at this level, but have usually played larger ones. If any of you have had 200-point fleets that have worked particularly well for you, some tips would be welcome — Allies or Axis. I've already seen a few interesting ones on this site.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I kind of like my limited Japanese destroyer swarm I ran the other day, even though it didn't win.

There are some great builds posted in this forum. All builds are vulnerable to something.

This is the format the Atlanta group plays a lot.
Bring 2 fleets - 1 Axis, 1 Allied. Roll to determine which you use for each game
If you win, you must keep your fleet. If you lose, you can revise it or bring a new one for the next game.
We play a round robin format - time permitting. Sometimes we don't make all rounds. Such is life.
Winner for the day has best won/loss record.
1st tiebreaker is head to head. So if there are 6 players, and 2 players are 4-1, the player than won the head to head is the winner for the day.
2nd tiebreaker: If 3 or more players have identical records, you add up all your points scored from all games played. Highest point total wins.
Winner gets "Homer Simpson achievement award for tactical brilliance and extreme good luck."
We've also played this format with 100 points. If you have a large group - 100 points allows more games than 200.

3 words for ya: The KoD Fleet.
Seriously though. Just run whatever is fun for ya. There are plenty of fun fleets out there that can still be competitive. Especially depending upon the level of your competition out there.
Go with whatever feels right.
