200 Point BB Cheese BuildsSO I made these mainly because I was bored. One is a U.S. build and the other is a JP/GE build.
US Cheese:
USS Massachusetts x1 = 56
USS Washington x1 = 56
USS Iowa x1 = 68
TBD Devestator x2 = 18
Total - 198
Alternate: If you're not expecting subs (which is the main reason for the devestators) you can take a Dauntless and Wildcat bringing the total to 200 points. This build would just stay at ER and pound stuff.
JP/GE Cheese:
Yamato x1 = 70
Tirpitz x1 = 55
Bismarck x1 = 53
Shoho x1 = 9
Kate x1 = 13
Total - 200
Alternate: You could replce the Shoho with another plane. But having the Kate on a carrier allows it to come out every turn.
I cannot decide which is a better build. Or who would win if they fought each other. I'd say the US because of the slightly better BB's and having 2 planes instead of 1.
Rating (Both Builds) - 8 out of 10. Why? Vulnerability to subs.
What do you guys think?

It would be close

One Kate is likely to be shot down and not have much effect. You would be better off with a sub, or maybe two fighters.
Catalinas are better than Devastators for anti-sub work.

all your opponent has to do for 200pts is take a few fighters, maybe 3 zekes, just to make sure, and spend everything else on subs, and both lists automatically lose pretty much, it won't take long for 3 battleships to die to swarms of torpedoes.
8 out of 10, nah, 2 out of 10 is closer, cheese isn't cheese if it can be countered easier than sneezing
heck a balanced list could beat it as long as 1 sub survives

Just try following 2oo point USN build
Massassusetts x2 (112)
Princeton 16
Dauntless x 2 26
Wildcat x 1 7
San Francisco 16
Fletcher 7
Hoel 9
PBY catalina/wildcat 7

If he only brings subs and aircraft, you automatically gain an objective's worth of points. And because of that, you only need to survive long enough to grab 2 more objectives, which will be relatively easy as the guy with only subs and aircraft cannot contest objectives...at all. You just gotta survive one turn on the objective, and even with a sub in the objective sector and one in each adjacent, he can't contest it.
Therefore, you win relatively easily if he's not rolling hot on the 6's.

Thanks,
YEa I don't think I'd use this in a normal 200 point battle. But I got another Yamato today so it might be changed a little. I would use this if I knew I was going against an all surface fleet.
Recommendation: When using as manyn BB's as this (2 at least) and if you're not too worried about subs put 2 BB's in 1 square. Throw a figher or 2 in with them and you have a nearly inpenatrable wall of AA. I used this with Dunkerque and Richelieu, I ended up losing the game, but when my BB's were together my opponent wouldn't even think about putting air in the square that the BB's were in.

those points that you save with swapping in a Tennessee you can put in a Barb or the third dauntless
good luck with the build
