1943 125pts German to face 125pts Commonwealth on Feb 15th

Here it is:

3x Panzer IV Ausf. G(69pts)
1x German Infantry Platoon(19pts)
-1x SS Haupsturmfuhrer
-3x Mauser Kar 98k
-1x MG-42 Machine-Gun Team
2x Sd Kfz 251(14pts)
3x Wehrmacht Veteran Infantrymen(15pts)
2x Panzerfaust 30(8pts)

Alright, I'm trying to bring in the Wermacht Vets to prevent my armour from getting close assualted with tally-ho like before. I could trade the Panzer IVs for a single Veteran Tiger but I feel I will need more attacks on targets per turn. Your opinions?

Hmm, Are you doing a scenario?  Because if you're on the defensive, say holding a town,  I think you should go with a sandbagged mg team.  Also I would bring in the Vet. Tiger if you're holding a town or playing defensively as to slowly pouund away at enemy armor.  Where as if you're on the offensive I think what you have could work.  You might think about taking out the Sd Kfz 251 (which is now 7 points) along with one Mauser Kar and replacing them with a puma.  Just some thoughts.

I would either drop the 251s and add some more vets or drop the 251s and add Kubelwagens for more movement per turn. Unless you are going for fast AT-AI 251s with the Fausts
Field Marshal PF

Actually they are 2 251s, and a Puma is just too fragile for the investment.

Looks pretty good, but you don't have any Anti-Air. Maybe a Luftwaffe infantrymen?

1943 commonwealth = Churchill IV (EF), Grant I (NA), Valentine, Crusader, Matilda, Stuart

That's some good tanks. Pretty good armour on them. At 28 points the Churchill coulb be a tough nut to crack.

Are platoons allowed? The Panzer IV Platoon is 65 points and you get 2 Panzer IV G's and an SS-Panzer IV.
Field Marshal PF

Yeah, the SS-Panzer IV is a good option but wouldn't fall in to 1943 Africa, sorry I didn't specifically say that early on.

Horribly late on the report but here is it in brief:

Opposing build:
1x Grant I
1x Matilda II
1x Valentine I
1x M3 Stuart
1x Vickers MG
1x Inspiring Lt.
1x Bofors L60
1x Royal Engineers
4x Gurkha Rifles

My build:

3x Panzer IV Ausf. G(69pts)
1x German Infantry Platoon(19pts)
-1x SS Haupsturmfuhrer
-3x Mauser Kar 98k
-1x MG-42 Machine-Gun Team
4x Wehrmacht Veteran Infantrymen(20pts)
1x Marder II(17pts)

Ok, so we decided to play without objectives and just have a brawl. I brought 2 PzIVGs and the Marder to a row of bluffs where they had shots on any approaching enemy units. My third PzIVG was with the bulk of my infantry on the other side of the map, where there was some trees. He positioned his Bofors and Vickers in very good firing position on a central hill that would have line of sight to any assualt. I decided to stay in a defensive position. I left 2 Vets with the tanks on the bluffs and kept the bulk of my infantry behind a treeline that was behind my 3rd PzIVG. He collected his Valentine and Matilda for a direct attack on the bluffs, he thought he could knock out the fragile Marder first. His Grant sat with his infanty with a firing position on my 3rd PzIVG while his M3 atempted to get around my #3 Panzer IV and get to my infantry. He figured I would return fire at the Grant and let the Stuart pass.

The next 2 turns were bloody. I did not fall for the switch and fired on the Stuart, damaging it just before it had LOS to my infantry. His Grant disrupted my #3 PzIV and his M3 damaged it with a rear shot. My Marder and #1 and #2 Panzer IVs on he bluffs had trouble penetrating the 6 frontal armour at Long Range, but the Matilda was dsrupted, he Valentine free, but both of their attak missed my Marder. Next turn My #3 PzIVG fnished off his Stuart and was finished my the Grant at Medium range. My Marder was dsrupted(thanks to the cover) and the Matilda was damaged and the Valentine detroyed with a single close range attack(he tried to make a close ranged attack against a Panzer IV).

Amazingly the Mailda surving the following turn and mananged to get behind some trees. I sent the Marder after it while my Panzer IVs turned their sights on the Grant. The Marder and the Matilda destroyed each other. We both moved our infantry up. My MG42 eliinatd his Vickers and 2 Gurkhas but was killed y the Grant. His infantry was rapidly converging on my defensive position with Tally-ho. My vets assumed positions with the Panzer IVs to prevent the engineer from trying anything. He traded fire for two turns and his Grant was disrupted but he concentrated all his fire on the Vets, killing 3, his engineer and Lt made remarkable cover rolls and the engineer suicide-bombed one of my Panzer IVs. My other Panzer IV destroyed his Grant and the nextfew turns were mop-up duty.

Thx for the update, it's always fun to see how things turn out...
