150pts German to face 150pts Russian 1943 KurskWe each have 150pts but must bring at least 100pts worth of vehicles.
A few combos:
#1:
1x Tiger I(56pts)
4x Panzer IV Ausf. G(92pts)
#2:
1x Elefant(58pts)
1x Panther Ausf. A(37pts)
2x Panzer IV Ausf. G(46pts)
1x SS-Haupsturmfuhrer(7pts)
#3:
1x Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander(45pts)
1x Panther Ausf. D(35pts)
3x Panzer IV Ausf. G(69pts)
#4:
1x Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander(45pts)
1x Tiger I(56pts)
2x Panzer IV Ausf. G(46pts)
#5
6x Panzer IV Ausf. G(138pts)
1x SS-Haupsturmfuhrer(7pts)
I know i'm going all armour, so I probably want to bring the Panzer IV H Command tank.

I'd suggest something like this:
45 pts Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander
38 pts Stug III G x2
44 pts Panzer IV F2 x2
23 pts Brumbär
This way you won't get caught flat-footed when your opponent brings 50 pts of Mosins and Commisars.

This look any good?
Panther A: 37
Stug III D x3: 45
Panzer IV G x2: 46
Stug III G: 19
Kar 98: 3
150 points
Stugs for AI and decent AT, Panther for fast attack and Panzers for base AT. Kar for 3pt filler

@ lykos
That looks good, don't have any StuG Gs but I can use the Finnish by proxy.
@Panther
I like it but I really want to bring +3 initiative. The Stug Ds are a bit too fragile for 1943.

Another variant would be:
45 pts Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander
66 pts Panzer IV F2 x3
23 pts Brumbär
16 pts Messerschmitt Ace
The Ace could keep those Sturmoviks at bay. With all this weak rear armor, they could really ruin the day.

I like option #5, but substitute a Brumbar for a Panzer 4, and I think that leaves you enough room for a Kar98K.

IL-10 is a 1945 piece. No soviet air units yet.

How about this:
1x Veteran Tiger(68pts)
1x Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander(45pts)
1x Panther Ausf. A(37pts)
Too few units?
1x Veteran Tiger(68pts)
3x Panzer IV Ausf. G(69pts)
1x Sd Kfz 250(6pts)
1x SS-Haupsturmfuhrer(7pts)

How about this?
35pts Panther Ausf. D
(3 )23pts Panzer IV Ausf. G
6pts Fuel Depot
21pts Junkers JU 87G Stuka
11pts PAK 40
8pts Vigilant Lieutenant
Total 150pts
Would have +2 Initiative, +1 on movement for tanks, and put PAK 40 in cover with Vigilant Lieutenant giving it Def. 4/4 with a cover roll.

I like that built, but it would not be easy against a platoon of foot troops. I would have included a Brumbar in it.

35pts Panther Ausf. D
23pts Sturmpanzer IV "Brummbär"
19pts Stug III Ausf. G
19pts Stug III Ausf. G
21pts Junkers JU 87G Stuka
11pts PAK 40 ATG
8pts Vigilant Lieutenant
8pts Fallschirmjäger (for taking out any ammo dump)
or
8pts Grizzled Veteran
6pts Fuel Depot
Total 150pt

I'm going with this:
1x Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander(45pts)
1x Panther Ausf. A(37pts)
2x Panzer IV Ausf. G(46pts)
1x Panzer IV Ausf. F2(22pts)

Then prey, that your opponent doesnt field any serious infantry.

Hey PF, if it is not late, I would suggest also:
Puma - strike and fade, mobility, good AI and AV - 17 pt
2x Panther Ausf D - 70 pt
Wespe - good all roundpiece , has bombard - 26 pt
SS Hauptst - 7 pt, adjacent to a arty piece like Lel G18 - 7 pt
Panzer IV F2 - 22 pt
USSR has no paras or planes for 1943 so you should be safe. The Wespe and G18 should have no trouble with enemy troops, 2 Panthers and a P4 should provide enough armor... the Puma will annoy your enemy for sure.
Depends on the map, consider the Stuka if you can play planes and the enemy has no lend lease AA equipment. Consider also the Ammo Dump.
Ok, best of luck to you!

Ok guys, i'm back. I won't tell you who won right off so you'll just have to read the brief overview.
Opposing forces:
1x T-34/76 Model 1942(30pts)
2x KV-85(64pts)
1x SU-122(22pts)
1x SU-85(22pts)
1x Veteran NCO(6pts)
My forces:
1x Panzer IV Ausf. H Commander(45pts)
1x Panther Ausf. A(37pts)
2x Panzer IV Ausf. G(46pts)
1x Panzer IV Ausf. F2(22pts
So, it would seem he had the same idea in mind when constructing his build. 5 on 5 tank festival. This player loves no-objectives and I have nothing against a good annihilation slug-fest, and that is exactly what ended up happening.
It would be hard to explain every single movement phase and what had LOS to what, and so on. Instead i'll just briefly touch on some of the assault phases.
Suffice it to say, he was wary of my Panther, and moved his unit around forests accordingly. First turn there was no attacking. We each manuvered
our armour to block shots. I didn't want my units to stray too far away from the command tank, the ruthless bonus was far too valuable. I had to except that he could circle around my units and have complete cover, I only had cover for my Panther and the command tank.
Next turn saw the damaging of one of my PzIVGs and the disruption of my other PzIVG and the command tank. One of his KV-85s was damaged but thanks to heavy armour, just disrupted. My PzIVF2 and my Panther broke off from the commander in order to try and flank the SU-85 and T-34.
Next turn, thanks to Command Ruthless, I finished off the KV-85 with a long range attack by my damaged Panzer IV G! 10 of of 11 successes! His SU-122 moved to short range against my disrupted PzIVG and damaged it, while the return-fire missed. My commander was redisrupted and my PzIVF2 and Panther damaged his T-34 and SU-85 without getting scratched.
The next turn, he pushed his second KV-85 in, and damaged my command tank. His units finished off my damaged Panzer IV Gs but mine destroyed his SU-122. My Panther and PzIVF2 finished off his T-34 and SU-85.
And then there was one. His KV-85 took up a position in a town and destrroyed my command tank. I rushed with my remaining two armoured units. Damage turned into disruption.
He managed to damaged my PzIVF2 but was finally finished off.

If I read the report correctly your command tank got disrupted, but you used your command Ruthless next turn - that would be imposssible under current ruling (Commander Abilities don't work when the Commander is disrupted)
KV -85 s are really sweet units

We had the V1 rulebook with us and most of the guys there don't play the new rules. (ex. they don't use exposed transport), so I just go with it. But good point.

Command rules are still on the V1 books.
