100pts 1940 German Build to face a 110pts French Build

Ok, its been argeed that the next round will be 1940 France. As Germans I have assembled this;

1x SS Haupsturmfuhrer-7pts
4x Mauser Kar 98k-12pts
1x Wehrmacht Veteran Infantrymen-5pts
1x sIG 33-15pts(You guys are going to chew me up about this one)
1x Panzer III Ausf. F-13pts
2x Elite Panzer IV Ausf. D-36pts
1x Messerschmitt BF-109E-14pts

Alright guys, let me have it, and I know this is potential for massive cheese like SSPG swarms but I want to keep it civilized.

The map:
Sharpe

Any army you bring is going to have to face (potentially):

2x Char B
9x Fr Alpine
8x Barbed Wire

If you can't beat that, then you need to rebuild.

I don't think you need the plane.  Anything the French have that it can kill, isn't worth killing.

Maybe a Stuka? Its an investment for sure but whose to say. Also there are limits, no more than 5 5/5 infantry. The Chars will be a problem ofcourse, but my Elite Ds will have to deal with them.

Oh right, we need some JU-87Bs! Ok, so thrown out the 109 and Pz III and put in another Elite D + 3xKar 98k.

BTW, the Pz IIIF wasn't in France either.

We aren't getting that realistic, its still tourny, Smile. Don't think Alpine fought during the invasion. Don't have the flamer, but maybe I should add the engineer, good AT but I'll have to get in close, meet soom fresh new MGs.

Sandbagged MGs with 251s? Kinda expensive, but good fire support for infantry. Wermacht Vets are good too

Yeah, MGs are pricey, and its not a good one. Vets are the best, my favorite German infantry.

since the F don't have Aircraft, the 109 I don't think it is a "must". you can swap it with several units.

an expert sniper can't do harm... to you that is.

consider paras... they give you "extended" tactical advantage.

if you have 3x Panzer IV D Elite... don't be shy on using all of them.

I believe that the F don't have Paras, so you can play an Ammo Dump if needed. That is a good combo with the Crack shot from the Panzers and sniper Laughing

You cannot play the Stuka version that we have but you can field the Messerchmitt 110. It could be useful to kill french infantry and Panhards.

In my games, we do not play more than two 5/5 infantries. More than this become too cheesy.

Ammo dump+crackshot from Elite Panzer IV and snippers could wreak havoc among the french lines.

I like the Sig33, the revised card says it has extended range 16, so a spotter would come in handy. keep it out of harms way and let the spotter do the work.

I know, thats too bad but it does have blast and bombardment for 15 pts and ER 16. Not amazing but I will need that kind of support n the field. We are playing on the old 2'' Historical Battlefront France '44 town map. There is lots of cover and breaking of lines of sight but there are alos long streets and my sIG 33 can look down the length of them on overwatch(not the ability).

I for one like nr. 2. but you know what is best for you!

though I feel like the panzergrenadier can't use it's SA in your build (mech tactics).

I know, but the PG is the only 4pt German infantry, and I didn't want to wate a point so its like a Mauser with a better close assault.

I'm thinking #2 aswell but I really wanted to whip out the sIG for once.

Ok, the battle is tomorrow, I'm probably going with #2, but would love some final thougfhts.

If you take the ME 110, consider taking a spotter. that 5/4 attack just became a 6/5 and that 9/7 anti soldier to a 10/8. One spotter and a plane or two could sway things in your favor. You could use the plane to disrupt a heavy tank and then on the next turn pounce with a couple Panzer IIIs.
Also consider some 75mm arty to go with your spotter. Although it has low armor the Sig33 has just as good an attack as the Panzer IIIs. Don't forget that France has partisans, they can take out your ammo dumps and the like.  

Are you playing the buildings on the map as if they were city hexes, or factory hexes? In other words can vehicles enter the building hexes? If they can't for whatever reason, consider using an 88 to divide the map up and shut down an entire road.

Also since you are using that city map try to get a damage on any Char Bis's early on. Since the map is so condensed you can leave them immobile, they can't hurt you since they can't see you.
