100pt IJN long-lance nastinessJust play-tested this against a 100pt UK fleet based around Repulse which wasn't really fair on the UK and it was proved in a total thrashing.
Aoba
Oi
Yahagi
2 x Isokaze
2x Akitsuke
A6M5 Zeke
One ship will have to go solo, I ran an Akit. by itself and put the other with Oi to help it fend off air attack.
If you can get yourself set up correctly (and you have +5 initiative here which should help) then Oi and Aoba are just devastating.
I managed to have 4 ships including Oi all benefitting from Aoba's SA which meant that in a conflict for the central objective I was launching 22 LL's at the UK ships! Repulse's SA saved her from being sunk by Oi by she was sunk 2 volleys later.
Obviously the fleet's vulnerability is to heavy air builds, but hopefullyat 100pts these won't be too common.

Looks good. As you said, aborting air builds is key, but if you can do that, it should stand up well. Of course, luck is going to be a huge factor when using that fleet.

Suggestion - trade in the a6m5 for a good ol' a6m2 and upgrade an Isokaze to Shigure. This gives you a little smoke to go with your fleet - which may come in handy.

As jfk says it will be a a big gamble on torp hits but it looks like a lot of fun and a pain to go up against.
