Has anyone put together any scenarios based on the "Band of Brothers" HBO Series?
How would "Paratroopers" fit into a game?
I would love to put together a game from a scenario based on the "Historical events" that took place where the 101st and 82nd Airborne participated.
So the question; Has anyone put together a scenario for this?

There it is! An official set up for ambushing the half track, and some ideas for the final battle scene.

thanks Steel Panther.
It appears that according to the post was from the movie "Saving Private Ryan".  However, there was a similar action in "Band of Brothers" as well.

Upon reflection, what I'm thinkin of is a series of inter-linking Short scenarios based on the outcome of the previous one.  All taken from the HBO series "Band of Brothers".  I would start the scenario with their Paradrop behind the lines during the Normandy invasion, then progress onward.

Note: I primarily play the WAS version of A & A.  But a Friend has the AAM land version, and after watching the series Band of Brothers, I have been deeply moved to game it out.

From my perspective, it seems there is a preponderance of Lt's in the ground & airborne units leading platoons and sometimes entire companies, but none such reflected in "miniature" for AAM.
Has anyone "made up" any cards for them?

I think its a great idea. I was also moved by the series.

Is the Red Devil Captain not the kind of unit you're looking for?

Snipperley's Hutrgen's Forest Scenario would be good inspiration for the part where they're suurounded in the forest trying to survive the German artillery.

It is definitely very powerful!

Not really. Thanks tho...   Are there no Lieutenants?  Or cards for them?
It seems the US Military during WW2 made more Lt's than any other officer type.  Enlisted Battlefield commissions, Mustang Lt's, 90day wonders, Ringknockers, ROTC, etc...

I'll have to have a look at that.  Thanks.  Loved the response to Gen. G. Patton's remark about saving the 101st...   "We didn't need saving!  Being surrounded by the enemy is our job!"

Do you want to have the Lieutenant have different stats/SA's than the available pieces, like Red Devil Captain, or is the problem just the name?

If the latter, what I do in my scenario designs is list the unit under a different name in the list of forces and then ID the proxy piece in parentheses), eg:  "Battlefield Commission Lieutenant" (Proxy:  Red Devil Captain)

If the former, then I make up my own stats/SA's to alter an existing piece, still listing which AAM piece I recommend using as a proxy, as in:

“Turkestan Cavalry” (Cossack Cavalrymen w/ SAs: “Surefooted Mounts” – This unit receives +1
on movement rolls, and “Amphibious” -- This unit can cross streams without making a move-
ment roll. This unit can enter water hexes as though they were double-cost terrain hexes.)

or make up the unit entirely:

“Night Witch” Polikarpov U2 – 1942 Aircraft, 14 points, Speed A, Defense 3/3, Attacks:  V:  2/2/-, S:  7/5/-, SAs:  “Aircraft” – Aircraft are placed during the flight phase and attack during the airstrike phase. Units attacking Aircraft use their anti-Soldier attacks and get -1 on each die.
“Bombs” – Once per game, instead of rolling this unit’s attack against an enemy Soldier or Vehicle at short range, you can declare you are using bombs. If you do, roll 9 dice against that unit if it is a vehicle and 7 dice against that unit if it is a soldier.
“Stall Speed Sideslip” – Enemy aircraft get -1 on each attack die when attacking this unit . This SA is not in effect in any phase following the use of this unit’s Bombs SA during that turn.
“Decoy” – This unit must be targeted by all units with the SA “Anti-Air” within four hexes that choose to attack during that turn. Only one unit with this SA may use it in a given turn. The player with multiple units possessing Decoy must declare which unit is using the SA in a given turn
.

Some people do a beautiful job of making actual card for units they invent, but I don't have the graphic design skills, or interest, for that!

If you want someone to bat around ideas with for the unit you want, let me know. It might even be interesting to be able to "promote" a Soldier-Infantry, changing it into a "Battlefield Commission Lieutenant" between individual scenarios, to replace previous office units that are destroyed. The unit might have a different SA once promoted, depending on what piece it was before the "promotion."

I think I see what you are doing then.  Specific cards would be helpful, especially since the once 1st shirt gets a battlefield promo to 2Lt...
Having his card as a 1st Sgt and Lt...   I can totally see Winters as "Red Devil capt tho.

SOBEL! (for some what if-s, or some added SAs)

A couple different Officers:

And you could add whatever 'paratrooper' rules you come up with, and any other SAs to signify them as certin officers in BoB

Nope, they are from the Sharpedia, courtesy of our own Sharpe. He has 17 cards for SPAIN ALONE. 25 for Canada, with NO LEND LEASE equipment (aka, no stock shermans, stuarts or MGs)

PM Sharpe, he should be able to send you a CD of all his cards for whatever it takes for him to ship it. I LOVE it, if I could pick what units I wanted to use, id convince all my AAM frends to let me play them.
