Generals FAQ
----------------
* How do I use these cards?
- The Generals deck is for nation-limited games. Each player chooses a nation and then picks one General of this nation. That's it. You don't pay for the General and you can't field units from a nation other than the General's. It's the equivalent of the faction in a pc game.
* Are they compatible with AAM, Forumini Armies and HHR?
- Yes.
* How should I print them
- They should be ok with most decent printers, but for high-quality professional printing on AAM-sized cards use the 300 pixels/inch versions (click on the images).

Are you guys still creating generals?
I want to create two for a scenario I'm writing. The scenario is about the second battle of Nomonhan in Manchuria between the Japanese and Soviets, so the two generals are Michitaro Komatsubara and Georgy Zhukov.
For Komatsubara, who was a Soviet military atache for much of his career, I propose the SA: Soviet Military Expert - If this player is fighting the Soviet Union, once per game he or she may automatically win initiative for that turn.
For Zhukov, who used the Blitzkreig in Manchuria before the west ever saw it from the Germans I propose an SA called: Mobile Armour Pioneer. I have two ideas for how this SA could work and would welcome C&C
a) Once per game, this player may move disrupted Vehicle-Tank units during the movement phase of one turn
OR
b) Once per game, during the assault phase, this player's vehicles may move up to one hex and then attack.
I can also write the flavor text. Komatsubara's would have to mention his defeat at Nomonhon and Zhukov's shoudl probably credit him with his early, little-known innovation in mobile armour tactics.
If there aren't going to be any more official generals, I'd welcome C&C as I'd still like to include them in my scenario.
I'd also like to borrow the graphic template - I'd change the color and leave off the logo if these are unofficial generals to distinguish them from the official ones. _________________

Option B for Zhukov seems very strong. _________________

I admit that I have a number of them waiting in the depots. I will consider posting them only after the Forumini Generals Tourney.

You did not include negatives for the generals. Moreover the generals are not supposed to be scenario-specific. They are created according to their style and in some cases character. However I admit that I have a Zhukov card which is different to yours. I will consider posting it up after the Forumini Generals Tourney.

This I am afraid that I can't grant you. You can try to include it in your scenario notes. |

If you guys don't officially want them, that's cool. I'm going to introduce them as special rules in my scenario regardless - I think it could be a good way to expose more players to the Generals concept. I will note that they are unoficial.
I did create them according to their style and character at the time of the Nomonhan Incident. Komatsubara's career pretty much ended with his defeat at Nomonhan. Zhukov went on to a very illustrious career and an official card for him could, and probably, should reflect later developments.
I wasn't aware that all Forumini Generals had a negative. I'll look more closely at the ones you guys have created and flesh these out accordingly. _________________

Stronger than other Generals' abilities?
What do you think of A? _________________

I see now that all the posted generals have drawbacks.
Komatsubara should have a negative SA called "Overconfident," or "No Retreat." Perhaps something like "For the first half of the game, this player's forces cannot retreat; each hex they move into must be a hex in their frontal arc."
Zhukov should have something like "Politically Unpopular." The only thing I can think of to represent this is probably too weak: "This player must ignore all the SAs of his or her Commissars." _________________

I'd love to see what you came up wth for Zhukov - he had such a long career and was key to so many critical battles (like Kursk)...
His tactics in Manchuria are thought to have been instrumental in the development of the T-34. This makes me think he would be a great opportunity to redress the T-34 costing issue that was creaed by the revision. Maybe something like "Soviet Armor Pioneer: This player's T-34s (not variants) cost 2 less points." _________________

Sharpe,
Hey, I noticed some of the generals are not in 300 pixels.
There are around 10 of them like that.
Any idea if that will change?
Also, are sevidny and papayaenzyme on here?
