Post subject: Non-Minis Axis & Allies Scenarios

Right forum, wrong site I guess, but just in case somebody knows...
...does anybody know where I could find a 1940 start-date mod for either classic Axis & Allies (global) or Axis & Allies Europe that would allow for the invasions of France, Norway and whatnot? I'd love to have something like that, and then use minis to resolve combat... (Hmmm, I wonder if Sharpedia has Norwegian cards? ) |

Yeah, it'll be a long game. But at least we have a 'scenario' to play every week! As it stands we'll start in 1941 like the standard AAE game, so no fighting Frenchmen.
And the macro-board will be electronic, so we don't have to worry about keeping the pieces on it in the right spot for months on end. I only got into AAM when the global campaign game was already in full swing, so this is our chance to have a go at it (we just had to figure out some mechanisms; WotC didn't release the rules they invented for porting over AAE & AAP to AAM).
I had suggested to my group that we play it out on a thread here so people could comment on it if they wanted to, but so far I'm still the only one with an account. So not sure yet if we'll end up doing that. |

Alright, Cobra is in the house!
Cool, I'll have to set up a thread in the Online Gaming forum and I guess we go from there. |

I was going to suggest something like the 'world at war' mod or 'The Struggle for Europe and the Pacific'. You can check those out (the later is expensive and has a huge new map) for some inspiration a least. But either way, I'd definitely like to keep tabs on your game. I'm planning something myself, but I'm waiting for a few more gaps to be filled in the AAM line-up before I start. _________________ Powerful men are well advised not to use violence,

| I'm still cleaning up the JPEG of the AAE map, but I'll post it eventually and curious folk can watch and see how it plays out. |

I don't know if I have either the organizational or online-play skills to pull that off, but all the resources I've used would be available to somebody else who's got the skillz.
I got the map cleaned last night, and I added two convoys to the Mediterranean (a la some guy's expanded AAE map from here: http://axisdomain.0catch.com/). I'm using a Photoshop file to keep all the territory markers & units organized as layers, so that it's easier to move things around turn-by-turn. |

Well, I managed to get all the files ready, and they're posted for turn one over here: http://aaminis.myfastforum.org/sutra115846.php#115846
Follow along if you're interested, maybe we could use this thread for comments if people want to make any.
PM me if you want to give this a go yourself, or host something for the larger forums. Cobra and I are going to try this with just our group for the first go at it, anyway. |
