Near Boldin, South of Moscow, 9th Decembre 1941.
At the beginning of December, Winter struck. Facing 30 degrees below temperatures the german Army Center could advance no more. Worse, with regiments sometimes holding huge areas of frontline the german corps could not pretend to hold a straight frontline. Defences were centered around natural strongholds or villages that had not been burned down by the soviets. On 6th of December the soviet 1st Guards Cavalry mobile group was sent over to the attack deep into the rear of Guderian's 2nd Panzer Army.
Maps and special rules:
West- D1(upside down)- D1- East
To create the frozen map, place a city hex tile on each of the forested hexes. These represent ruined framhouses. they do provide cover for all units.
each farmhouse is worth 2 points.
The german player sets up his units on any mountain or village hex.
Each hill hex is worth 1 point.
All other terrain is considered clear terrain for game purposes.
At the end of turn 6, the player with more points is declared the winner.
IInd Panzer Army ad-hoc units (remnants of several regiments holding "the line"):
