I have opened a Photobucket account for everyone to use so that we can play Axis And Allies Miniatures online.
I have graphics of all the miniatures and maps, shrunken to an appropriate size for these message boards. With those we can use Microsoft Paint to have a virtual game board. You will know where each mini is for the entire game this way, no confusing co-ordinates to worry about, just copy and paste all changes on the map just like the normal game. The best part is it's FREE!

It is easy to use Ms Paint for A&A
Simply copy a map from this account
Paste your miniatures in the position that they would be in
Upload the image to Photobucket
Post it to the message board, for all to see
Your opponnent may now use that image to do the same
Your opponnent ,keeping your minis where they are, adds his/her own minis to the map
repeat these steps for each phase, and just like that You now have a game going!

The account name is "AA_Play_By_Post"
The password is "playbypost"

It is a very straight forward system, follow the normal rules for the play by post forum, then head to photobucket and create a folder titled "PlayerA V PlayerB" and use that folder to store your images. there is limited space so, it would be nice if you deleted your folder when you are done with your game, Thanks. (a good game might be nice for a showcase though). I am assuming that no one will be a vandal here, but just in case, something "Might" not be work safe, if so, notify me via PM and I'll take care of it.

I am going to work on something similar for war at sea but the Airplane phase would require lots of pic swapping

For war at sea, just find someone to moderate (like me) who has Photoshop (like me). I'm always happy to host a game for someone.

You can also use TheGimp - an open-source program like photoshop.

It's the same with me. I can't get acces to the Photobucket account. Is this account still active? Maybe it's only the username or the pasword that are mispelled. This tool seems to be great tobenhance the visual aspect of play-by-post games. If anyone of you knows how to connect, please post in this section.
