Just wanted to share some information.  All of our distributors have run out (or are almost sold out) of the first War at Sea set.  Wizards of the Coast doesn't have anymore in their warehouse (that I am aware of) so once the current market supply dries up the prices on singles, packs and cases from the first set should go up.

Do what you want with the info. I'm just the messanger.

Uh, he's not asking where he can get more.  He's just stating that the laws of Supply and Demand are about to kick in since stores will be stuck with only their dusty shelf stock.  New players will no longer know the pain that is the overcosted yet excellently sculpted first set.

Good news, for those who care.

Thanks to Steve at Miniature Market for letting us know what's up.  If you check out MM's W@S stuff, you can see that the 'market' has already begun to work.  Base set booster packs have risen from $9.75 to $11.00.

Damn you, Invisible Hand... damn you.

Now that I got my Baltimore for $10 (sorry, $18 is ridiculous), I have everything I want from Base Set.

I guess this is a move that makes sense considering that new starters are due out in a few months.

I do, but I'm mostly out of rares to trade. I have some of those sought after Auxs though. Pain in the ass to link via the iTouch, but it should be on the first or second page of the marketplace forum.

Good point, I would think the Auxiliaries would be the most sought after unless they are reprinted in a future set.

FYI, cases are cheaper to order on Ebay right now even with the shipping charge.

As tempting as it is to jump on the speculator band wagon and snatch up a few cases I am going to resist.  I just do not trust WoTC to not do a reprint of the first set once the demand rises and they see $ in their eyes.

I have more than I will ever need in my personal collection.

It will be curious to see what plays out.

So does this mean a further price increase in the Set 1 Zero... sigh...
Its already overpriced due to the Set 3 Zero being a little underwhelming...

I am in the same boat. My OH MY GOSH!! ITS GOING TO BE OVER SOON!!! side was saying go get some more, but I already have enough. Only thing would be some more Aux's but I will just use proxies. Not paying 8 bucks for a Kinai or Jeremiah, nope not gonna do it. I was wondering how this might affect new players. It would be kind of discouraging to get into a game and not be able to complete the set or have to spent gobs of money to do so. I bet there is a reprint just might be next year before they do so. Supply and Demand, is evil but also can help in our current situation.
