An SBD attacks a ship.  The ship gets to use AA fire and aborts the attack.  The SBD presses the attack and suceeds.  The question is:  If there are two enemy ships and one caused the SBD to abort, can the second ship, or aircraft, attack the SBD again?  Or is the SBD immune from future AA attacks?  If the second ship or aircraft aborts the SBD again, can the SBD press the attack again?

Technically, you press the attack after all of the AA fire is completed. This means that once you press through, you are going through no matter what.

So after I press the attack, I am immune to all future attacks?  That is the way i have been playing but it felt "dirty".

Yes. If it makes you feel better, do like the rules say and wait until after all AA fire is done, then say "Wait a sec!!!! I just remembered that I can press the attack on those 5 Dauntlesses that got aborted!!!!  Twisted Evil "

When a plane uses the press the attack ability that means it was aborted.

You must roll right there and then as soon as that plane becomes aborted.

However ships or planes can NOT attack any planes that have become aborted during that turn.

I know because I just did a search on the official site.  Razz

Yeah, this isn't dirty or evil or anything.  An aircraft that presses the attack is still 'aborted' the SA says nothing about removing the aborted counter, and 'aborted' aircraft may not be attacked any more, it says so in the rule book.

Note - simple general rule clarification regarding aborted aircraft. Not transferring content.
