Can anyone help me with some claryfication on plane and carriers rules?

1 Q
If I loose a carrier based plane, can I then replace it with one from my airfield?

2 Q
Expert somthing ex dogfighter, does it have to be those planes there is on the carrier or, can I give the abillity to an plane from the airfield?

3 Q
Must fighters rearm on arfields? or can they fly in every turn?

Yes. In fact, the game does not really distinguish between airfield- and carrier-based units. Simply, at the end of each turn, all aircraft need to land somewhere - but where is left at your discretion. For example, if you think you won't need a fighter the next turn, you can send it to the airfield and "transfer" a bomber to the carrier so it will be immediately available.

To any, see above.

They must rearm. In some instances this is quite unrealistic, but it's a concession that was made to help with game balance.

The one exception to the third point about fighters re-arming on airfields is that if you assign your fighter directly to the airfield as its move for the turn (instead of deploying it on the map), it doesn't pick up a re-arming counter, and can be used again next turn.

But make sure you do that last. Once you place a plane to the air base you can no longer send out planes on missions.

Basing assignment is done in the Aircraft Return Phase, only at this point an aircraft changes base. This determines if it will get a rearm counter (land) or not (carrier).

Yes, only specific restrictions prevent these bonus to be granted (Patrol bombers, specific SA like Land Fighter)

ALL aircraft attached to landbase have to rearm. The only exceptions are :
- specific SAs that prevent/remove the rearm (Loiter, Excellent Endurance,...)
- aircraft which were assigned to land base as a mission.
