Mines are treated as Torpedo Damage.

MTBs are immune to Torpedoes.

Are MTBs immune to mines?

Where are you seeing that MTB's are immune to Torpedoes?  AFIC they are subject to the same Torpedo rules just as all other surface units.

Additionally, I would say that MTB's are NOT immune to mines with the exception of the Nuoli MTB which has the Avoid Mines SA.

Right here in the Rules Clarification document, where it reads "Small Ship Evasion:
Torpedo attacks can't hit Torpedo Boats." Wink

Hm. Well I am not sure mines are treated as torpedo damage--torpedo defense just works against mines. Semantic difference I suppose.

A mine roll is not a torpedo attack, so I lean that MTBs can be sunk by mines.

Makes sense, I was just wondering if it had been clarified.

from the clarifications, under "small ship evasion" ...

Quote:
Small Ship Evasion

Torpedo attacks can't hit Torpedo Boats.

which of course doesn't really answer the question.

Ahh... didn't think to look there.

I believe that the damage is treated as if it were a torpedo (for purposes of torpedo defense, etc).  It is a different type of attack though.
