I'm have a soft spot for space combat games, and DFC is the newest kid on that particular block. I'm eagerly waiting for my KS rewards to arrive! Anyone else getting into the game?

I and a couple friends are getting into it. Well, I am, one guy has the starter, unopened (like the other 5000 games he buys), and another just got the book. I'll need to work on actual local players.

Generally good reviews thus far, except for the ultra fiddly bases which are impossible to read from a sitting position.

Ships look good, mostly the UCM and PHR. Not so big on the Scourge or Shaltiri. Hopefully they will eventually make the fighters and bombers as minis. Never could get them for BFG before GW quit making it.

Game overall reminds one a lot of Battlefleet Gothic, even the modular cruiser and frigate sprues. Not surprising, as the lead designer is Andy Chambers of BFG fame.

Yeah, I'm still working on building stuff so I can start running some demos! I have to say, though, so far the mechanics I'm reading from the book don't seem to have a whole lot of direct comparison to the BFG rules.

I had a chance to sit for a demo recently. It's fun, definitely a learning curve if playing for the first time. I agree the bases can be fiddly.  Not sure I like the rotating aspects of the base to track certain things. We ended up using dice to determine HPs.

I like DFC but lean toward DZC. I plan to get both eventually though

I got lucky on DZC. A local store put it onto the 50% off shelf to make room for more GW stuff and I snagged the 2-player starter,  extra UCM, PHR and Scourge starters, and a few odds and ends blisters. I started off painting UCM and Scourge, got discouraged on the colors, and finally went all in on PHR.
