We need more aircraft tokens!

ND created the ones we are currently using back when he was working on Forumini Dogfights. They were made by finding top-down views of aircraft and converting them into a 1m=5pixels scale.

I recently made this Bf 110 using the same method. I'm terrible at image manipulation, but it appears to be the correct scale compared to the other aircraft.

AAAF aircraft that we have tokens for:

Allied

French MS.406

US P-40

US Wildcat

UK Spitfire

UK Hurricane

UK Typhoon

Soviet I-16

Soviet Yak-1

Axis
--------
German Fw190A

German Bf109E

German Bf109F

German Bf109G

German Bf110

Italian C.200 Saetta

Italian C.202 Folgore

Japanese A6M2

Japanese Ki-61

Finnish MS.406

Made a Typhoon. However, it looks like I'm creating slightly smaller scale than 5px/1m tokens. I'll need to work on this, figure out where I'm messing up.

The Typhoon should be like... 4 pixels wider. Doesn't seem like a lot, but that's almost a meter too short in wingspan.

I think that as long as they're close enough it's fine... I resize most of them to fit the online maps anyway! Very Happy

Great job so far!

Yes, but I want them in scale with respect to each other. For... I don't know, OCD purposes?

I'm afraid I have the same problem. Laughing

Are you sure you use the right dimensions? Since you have your aircraft facing up, the length of the aircraft should be the equivalent of the height of your image. Also, make sure there is no empty space between the tip of the wings and the end of the image. Use autocrop or something similar.
You are right that the typhoon is 1 m off scale. The MS406 is correct.

Yeah, I figured out what happened. I cut the images, then rotated them for the 110 and Typhoon as they were originally at an angle. When I rotated them it increased the size of the layer, adding in empty space. I need to go back, rotate the image first, then cut and I'll be fine.

Yak-1 added (working on an alternate Yak-1 as well)

Ha... I think the 109E I scaled is the EXACT SAME as the one that we already had.

They looked different prior to being shrunk...

I'll make another.

We now have 4 Bf 109s tokens to choose from. Really I could lump them all under the heading Bf 109, since you can't really see the differences between models at this minute scale.

Having a hard time finding the green colored C.200 or C.202 so I'm using Eastern Front camo for them.

Maybe change the colour balance of the image (add more green). Nobody can notice the difference at such scale.

Dots disappear if you reduce contrast.

I don't mind the dots. I enhanced the Green on the alternate Folgore.

Added a French MS.406 because I know everyone is dying to try it out.

Edit: I also tweaked the green/white on the Alternate C.202 some more.

With your permission, I'm gonna lock this so we can have one thread with all the planes/maps. Of course, you can unlock it if you deem it necessary, but now that we have all the units, we should be good! Very Happy

Not a problem, thanks for finishing. But... your Typhoon doesn't look like a Typhoon Wink
